I need help please. when i tried to save i saw this message: “The file cannot be saved and may be protected. Do you want to launch Notepad++ in Administrator Mode?”
Can you suggest something? -
If you are editing a file that you do not have write permission for (file or folder), that’s what it will tell you when you try to save. If you run Notepad++ in Administrator mode, you will usually get write-permission for that file.
Your choices are to somehow get write permission for the file (run in admin mode, or externally change the permission before editing), or do a SaveAs to a location you do have write access to.

To be candid, I very infrequently get that message on a file save. I just cancel the box and attempt to save again, and I haven’t had that not save the file, on that second try.

@PeterJones Sorry. @PeterJones gave me the solution. I’ve started using NotePad++ on my computer when i saw this box.
