Hmm. I haven’t normally seen Notepad++ overwrite the session.xml when it updates. What version were you on before, and what version did it update to? If we can replicate the problem, we could send a bug report.

Thanks for your reply Peter. I have no idea of the previous version # (I assume the immediately preceding one, as I haven’t used it for long). It updated to v7.8.9.

check the backup directory to see if there is something.
It’s either the one where npp is installed or the one under %APPDATA%.
Depends on your installation. -
