Converting spaces to tabs

Hello,

I have Notepad++ v7.8.6. When I press tab, spaces are inserted. So, I opened Settins/Preferences/Languages, but in the Tab settings, “Default” is selected, and “Insert spaces” is unchecked. In other words, spaces shouldn’t be inserted in that case. It looks like a bug.

See all those things below [Default] in the Tab Settings ?
If your current file is one of those, it is going to depend upon what is set for that option. Find it, verify it.

So maybe your file is set for batch. In that case it is going to depend upon what you have for that, so click on batch and check it.

@Alan-Kilborn You are right, it was a python file, so I had to change the setting for python files. Thank you!
