Add same feature buttons from FaW to Project Panel

The Folder as Workspace view has Expand All, Collapse All, and Locate buttons. These same buttons are missing from the Project Panel views. I would like to have the same functionality no matter which way I created the workspace.

Further, both should have the option of automatically tracking the current source file with focus in the editor tabs. That is, if the feature is enabled, when I switch between existing tabs or open a new tab, the workspace view should automatically highlight the selected file, expanding and scrolling as needed to do so. If the feature is off, the behavior should be as currently implemented.

Any guidance on where to locate these features if they exist, or how to get a feature request (or two) created for them?

I don’t think either of those features exist.

I don’t have a lot of experience with the FaW or Project Panels, though I’ve started using them a bit. And I agree, having at least the same functionality between FaW and PP with regard to Expand All, Collapse All, and Locate would be great. And it would be nice to have a toggle/option which would allow “live” tracking (or, as you say, “automatically tracking”) of the active file, too.

So I agree that they are good ideas.

There is a FAQ which explains how to make the feature request. I highly recommend keeping those two separate. And if I were doing it, I would say that giving the Project panels the same buttons would be sufficient, but that adding the “live” option sure would be nice.
