Menu -> File -> Save session (is doesn't save the Bookmarks)

hello. There is a very bog problem. Save session is doesn’t save the Bookmarks.
Menu -> File -> Save sessionIt save only the tags, but the Bookmarks is a mess after open again the file. For example I make some bookmarks now on a txt file. I close the file. And when I open it again, the bookmark it disappeared.
If I close all files, and load the session, all bookmarks are in different places.
BUT. the Session manager from plugins does this job correctly. Except, that I cannot reinstall this plugin, as I say in the last Topic HERE
So, you should make Save Session to save a lot better the bookmarks

I tried a test with N++ 8.0 RC1.
- I opened
license.txtandchange.logand set a few bookmarks in each. - I did File > Save session and gave my session file a name.
- I did a Close All.
- I opened
license.txt; no bookmarks were present (expected). - I did File > Open session and chose the file I saved the session to earlier.
- The bookmarks from earlier were added to
license.txt(expected) - Additionally,
change.logwas opened and had the same bookmarks I set previously (expected).
CONCLUSION: I see no problem with bookmark saving/restoring in saved sessions.

Who do you think this “you” is? As you have been told many, MANY times in this forum: This Forum is a Community of users of Notepad++. We are here to talk about and help other people use Notepad++. But this Forum itself is NOT where bug tracking and feature requests go! The developers do NOT watch this Forum for bug reports and feature requests. Either you already know this, and say things like this just to rile us up; or you don’t know this, in which case you either don’t read the replies you are given or your translation software has a fundamental flaw.

Unless someone replies and says “yes, I see what Vasile sees”, then, as I stated before, there is nothing to report as a bug or nothing to suggest as an improvement. -

Apparently, something I said was construed as being an ad hominem attack. I am sorry that I offended you. I disagree with your actions and statements, but I have no basis to form an opinion about you personally.

And this is what you seem to not be understanding about what I’ve said: you can talk all you want in this forum; and we can give recommendations, and either confirm or contradict things that you claim aren’t working right. But in the end, we in this forum can do nothing to improve Notepad++ directly. If you are convinced there is something wrong with Notepad++, despite all our evidence showing that it’s working as we expect it to, then you are allowed to make feature suggestions or bug reports, regardless of what we say.
But if you insist on making those reports here, nothing will ever happen except that we will grow more and more annoyed with your actions, because this Forum is NOT where bug reports go.
So now, I will ask you a couple of simple questions, and let’s see if you can get this question right or not:
- Is this forum the official bug report or feature request location for Notepad++?
- Where should you go in order to report a bug or make a feature request for Notepad++?

@Alan-Kilborn If you have 20 open files, and each of them has more then 1500 lines, trust me, almost all bookmarks will not be in the same place. Also, another bookmarks will appear from out of nowhere.
For example if I have a bookmark on line 875, after close and open the files session, I will have the same bookmark on line 896. Something like that.
I will try to uninstall completely notepad++ and reinstall it again. Because only the plugin it worked very well

OK, I will try to do some testing on a larger scale.
No promise though as this could turn into a lot of effort.I answer at your question with a print screen take from this forum. Am please ask yourself, why does those problems discuss over here?

The forum is a “user” community…users helping each other out; users discussing things; users, users, users…
You’ve been told that developers (the ones that can fix bugs) don’t really participate here. Probably because if they did, they’d suffer information overload (have you seen how many “open” issues there are in the bug tracker for Notepad++? – current count at this writing is 1300).
So if you post here about a problem, and it is a real problem, and you don’t post in the official bug-tracker, your problem literally has a zero percent chance of being addressed or even known about by those that could look into it and fix it.

Which version do you use?
By the way, if the file was modified since the session has been saved, then the bookmarks would be off.
This is expected, because the position of the bookmark is a line number. More lines - wrong position.
