      I always had Notepad++ installed in my C drive and never had a problem. After I had to switch the OS a few times and, therefore, reinstall all my programs, I started installing them in my D drive. As I was making it somewhat “portable”, I checked the Don’t use %APPDATA% option while installing Notepad++, so my settings wouldn’t be deleted if I formatted the C drive.

      Now, I don’t know why, but my settings simply aren’t saved. I change my default theme from the Style Configurator, I modify some keyboard shortcuts, and if I close the program and open it again, it’s all back to default.

      What can be happening? I am an admin, by the way, and I did try opening with admin rights to configure it, but it still doesn`t work.

      Thank you very much for your time,
      Amadeo.

        @amadeogarcia ,

        Please share your ?-menu’s Debug Info. That will tell us lots of useful information, including what version you are using and where it’s expecting the config files to be.

            @amadeogarcia ,

            So, yes, you are in local configuration mode, but your executable is in the Program Files hierarchy, which is sometimes write-protected. If you don’t have IT department restrictions, you should be able to change the permissions of the directory and xml files in D:\Program Files\Notepad++ to allow you write-access.
