NppMenuSearch crashing as of Notepad++ commit 84c1505

As of Notepad++ commit 84c1505, NppMenuSearch plugin does not crash on load, but the search window is no longer in the toolbar and when I press the assigned shortcut, I get an Access Violation:
The previous commit of Notepad++ (prior to 84c1505) works fine.
I’ve opened a bug on the NppMenuSearch Github Issues - hoping to reach @peter-frentrup .
