Space Folding
-
With version Notepad+ 8.1.5, space folding by default for XML, YAML, MATLAB have been removed from what I can see. Python is the only one that remains. I am reverting back to v7.8 because I use MATLAB syntax as my default because it does support space folding. I searched for over an hour for a resolution and for now I’m done and hoping that someone figured out how to turn that feature on/off in a user defined language. I am definitely not wanting to type extra strings in my notes just for folding. If someone how to turn on/off this feature for all languages can you please post a solution? FYI, the corp. i work for blocks all plugins unfortunately, so thats not an option.

I disagree with some of your assessment:
language v8.1.5 v7.8 assessment YAML

disagree: YAML does fold on indentation for both versions of Notepad++ XML

disagree: XML doesn’t fold on indentation for v7.8 MATLAB

disagree: MATLAB doesn’t fold on indentation for v7.8 If you disagree with my experiments, please show example text (formatted per guidelines for example text) and screenshots, because I cannot replicate your differences.

@PeterJones I had forgot about this until I upgraded computers here at work where Notepad++ v8.1.9.2 was installed. Folding was not working for me with that version so I once again reverted to an earlier version this time v7.6.1. where folding works. Before I imported my settings it seems like it was working but it could because I’m VS2015-Dark theme or anything else in my %appdata% configuration that is causing this problem but I don’t have time to debug that. I posting this for my benefit later or hopefully others as well. If you “disagree” with that well than so be it.

I think Peter is willing to take your complaint seriously, as long as you can provide what he asked for, specifically from above:
If you disagree with my experiments, please show example text…
As it is, you’ve given nothing but an additional whine.
