Search Selection wrapping no longer seems to work

In a previous version (maybe 2 back) if I wanted to search for a string that wrapped onto a new line I could select the text click search (or copy and paste) and the text i selected would show with the <cr><lf> showing as squares. However, now it discards anything after the end of the line.
Maybe I changed some setting?

Sorry answered my own question. it is a setting in Preferences -> Searching
Don’t fill find field… was checked
