I had many unsaved documents in Notepad++ and unfortunately because of another program that locked my PC up tight, I had to reboot my PC. After the reboot, I started N++ again, only to find none of the documents came up like they usually do. There must be a running backup of those somewhere on my PC, but I don’t know where, and I don’t know how to bring them back in. And this time, I’ll save them all so this can’t happen again.

How do I bring them back? Thanks for your help!

You aren’t the first to fall into this hole, and definitely won’t be the last. You have used a feature of Notepad++ without fully understanding it, let’s hope it wasn’t to your detriment.

Because so many have this issue (not reading and understanding the manual on this feature), there has been a FAQ post created here. You should read that, and if there are still issues you don’t fully understand come back with more questions.
