I journal using an encrypted drive and don’t want this program to save anything anywhere else.
I disabled the backup function but I wanted to ask if there are any other ways this program makes temporary saves or anything.

I don’t believe so, but maybe others have different opinions.

I suggest reading the excellent FAQ post here. It talks about the AutoSave Plugin which may meet your needs.

When I answered earlier it was in the context of the core Notepad++ application, with only the plugins that are distributed with it.
Each plugin would have to be considered separately to judge whether it made any file copies when doing its work.
