Can I see the modified datetime of opened documents?
-
I always have a lot of opened tabs in NPP, a lot of the time many of them are not saved files but purely exist in npp “memory” (or however npp saves non-saved files - I guess that’s another question: where exactly does npp store unsaved file contents?)
I want to know when the last modified date of some unsaved documents was. Is this possible?

I think you should start your reading in our FAQ section, specifically the one on Periodic Backup vs AutoSave plugin. Whilst it talks about the merits of each and in actually setting something up so that you don’t suddenly lose files, there are possibly some answers to the questions you seek in it also. It’s this post.
Come back to your post if you have further questions, but I think that might just about sort you out.

@Terry-R
Awesome, this does indeed answer my questions and the other question I was about to ask about comparing unsaved changes to the original document :) Thanks! -
Hopefully you took to heart some discussion about unnamed/unsaved documents and potential data loss. IMO an unnamed file should be saved into the file system with a real name very soon after creation.

The new ComparePlus plugin may be of interest to you for such a task.
