Issues with Menus in Notepad++ and Windows 11 (OS Build : 22621.819)
-
I recently updated my Windows 11 (with last month). This update actually fixed a number of issues that my Widows 11 had which I was previously unable to repair.
However, since updating, my Notepad++ menus now all appear with boxes around every menu item. As I work with Notepad++, sometimes the menus begin displaying too narrow to display all of the menu text. And sometimes, the menus simply stop appearing at all. This includes menubar menus as well as any right click menus. Currently, if I close and reopen Notepad++, it usually fixes the bad or missing menus, but the boxes remain.
I have a handful of other programs that are displaying somewhat similar symptoms - the boxed menus. For at least one of these, I found I had to run it as Administrator to get any menus to appear.
Has anyone else experienced this and does anyone know if there is a fix that I can implement?

I’m not sure I fully understand what you mean by “boxes around every menu item”: a screenshot might be helpful for us to understand the problem. I have never seen a problem with menus being to narrow or not appearing…
If you have other programs displaying similar symptoms, then I’d hazard a guess that it’s something with the particular update of Windows 11, and not anything that Notepad++ can do anything about. (My home PC, which is Windows 11, has been prompting me to get the next update; I had been planning on doing it during Thanksgiving break next week, but maybe I’ll continue to hold off on doing that, if it’s breaking things like Notepad++.)
