Jittery display with dynamic width line numbers
-
ANSI text, length 130,847, 2,136 lines, line 987, column 11, position 64,357, cloned to other view, first view scrolled to view position via mouse wheel. Under Preferences > Margins/Border/Edge, I have Line Number set to Display / Dynamic Width. Extremely jittery display in first view — much more so to the naked eye than what is visible in this screen recording. It happens much too quickly for me to see it when looking at the actual NPP window do this, but I made two screen recordings of it happening, and based on the first screen recording it looks to me like NPP keeps switching back and forth between wrapping/not wrapping the word “personal” in line 981, and line 1000 (which results in a wider line numbering column) is on the edge of the bottom of the window. The first time I closed the second view after seeing these jitters, the display again started to jitter when I scrolled back to where line 1000 was on the bottom edge, which can be seen in my second video, but I haven’t been able to reproduce that. Also, I can’t reproduce the jitters when I set Line Number to Constant Width, whether single or cloned view. I can provide the entire text file, if need be.
I don’t see any way to upload my videos here. Possible?
Note, the width of my NPP window is 960 pixels.

There are already some issues open about that, e.g. 10442. If it bothers you, the cure is probably just setting constant-width…

Noted, thanks, and sorry, I missed that.
