ruines my life
That’s a bit dramatic, I’d say. If you cannot make it go away, I can understand how it might be temporarily annoying, but it should not affect your quality of life in any way, and definitely not ruin your life.
It looks like you are showing the Document Switcher menu, which is normally reached via
Ctrl+Tab
. And normally after you stop cycling through, it will select whichever tab you have highlighted (the bold tab name in your screenshot). The only way that I could convince mine to stay there without disappearing was to use
Ctrl+Tab
to start the process, and hold down theCtrl
key and let go ofTab
key (to keep it open), then click in a different window (like my web browser). But as soon as I click in Notepad++ again,Ctrl+Tab
will go back to cycling through that list, and if you let go of bothCtrl
andTab
, it will select whichever tab name was highlighted and show that tab in the editor, and the menu will go away.So to get out of your predicament, click in the Notepad++ window, then hit
Ctrl+Tab
briefly, and it should go away again. If you are not intentionally holding down the
Ctrl
key, you might want to look to see if your keyboard has theCtrl
key stuck, or whether maybe you have a Windows “accessibility” feature which makes theCtrl
key “sticky” (called “sticky keys” – after enabling sticky keys, you clickCtrl
orShift
orAlt
once, and Windows treats it as if you are holding that key constantly, until you do the “unstick” action – which may or may not be hitting that same key again) – this helps people who have problems hitting multiple keys at once use keyboard shortcuts. (Search for “Windows accessibility” and/or “sticky keys” in your favorite search engine to find out more about that feature, and how to enable/disable it.) -

There is nothing to fix in Notepad++. Either you have a dirty/broken keyboard, or you have enabled Windows OS settings: that means you either need to clean/fix/replace your keyboard, or change your Windows OS settings.

@PeterJones welp, i cant disable its invocation by mouse.

How are you invoking that popup window via the mouse?
