      Is it possible to include the LICENSE translation when installing Notepad++?

      Or does it involve a lot of code adaptation?

      O implica mucha adaptación de código?

        @P0rsche-911

        A license is a legal document, and a translation might change the legal meaning. Thus, a quick web search showed me that the GNU Project (authors of the GPL3 license that Notepad++ uses) specifically says:

        2202a61e-3f40-48c2-8042-ae09a48f1079-image.png

        So the only official GPL3 license is in English.

          Thank you very much for the clarification.
          It seems that translations are possible, but it must be expressly stated that, in case of inconsistency, the official version is the English one.

          What I don’t know is, at code level, how difficult or laborious it is to implement it in Notepad++.

          Muchas gracias por la aclaración.
          Al parecer es posible hacer traducciones, pero indicando expresamente que, en caso no concordancia, la versión oficial es la inglesa.

          Lo que desconozco es, a nivel de código, la dificultad o trabajo que tiene implementarlo en Notepad++.

            I’m not sure the value in pursuing this, i.e., anyone expending any effort on it.

            Can’t one simply click on the “LICENSE” link you provided in the first post in this thread, to open the license in a browser, and then, if unhappy with English, right-click and choose “Translate to ______”? I did this with Chrome, but presume other browsers also off this type of option.

            Or…do a similar thing if one has the license.txt file as distributed with Notepad++, i.e., drag and drop the file into the browser and proceed as before.

              Great idea
