autocompletion feature

I love the autocompletion feature, but when I want only to change the last char of a word it open up the autocompletion pop-up.
And I don’t want it, because I have to pres ESC or press the arrows every time.

pratical example:

qwertyuiop -> if I want to change only the last “p” it opens up the autocompletion pop-up. and after the mod I have to press esc

how to fix this? already tried “at least 3 char for the autocompletion” but it works only on a new word, and not on the last char of a word
