PC broke, temporarily on a borrowed laptop, installed N++.

Cant check what version I have on the PC because no way to access drive at the moment. But it gets updated once in a blue moon and the last update was sometime in the past 2 years, I think.
      Installed latest v8.6.7 on laptop.

Workflow I’m used to is that if I open multiple files at once, the history of active tabs considers each of them opened one after another. So when I’m done with the file that opened last, I close it and I’m taken to the next of the new tabs.

What I get in v8.6.7 instead is that upon closing the first new tab, I’m taken to the tab that was last active before I opened the multiple files.

Searching didnt land anything relevant because the results are oversaturated with more common problems. But I did get some usefulness out of this thread:

      https://community.notepad-plus-plus.org/topic/19407/7-8-6-closing-tabs-order/4

Between reading there and testing both 7.8.5 and 7.8.6, I’ve determined that the exact behavior I’m used to was implemented in 7.8.6 and must have been altered at some point between then and now.

Does anyone know when and how it happened? Was that behavior hidden in a setting somewhere or was it removed entirely? If the latter, which version is the last that has it?

@Vercinger How are you opening multiple files at once? I believe knowing that would both allow for reproducing the issue and suggesting workarounds.

You have already found one workaround which is to use v7.8.6 but there is likely a better way.
