I have been happily using Notepad++ version 8.1.9.3 for several years. I just installed version 8.6.7 on a new computer. Everything looks fine, except for one minor issue.

Whenever I launch Notepad++ on the new system, it re-opens all the files that were open at the last shutdown. This is a change from my previous system, where Notepad++ always started with a clean slate.

Is there any setting to tell Notepad++ to go back to the previous behaviour? In other words, not to re-open the last open files?

This is really not a big issue, but it is slightly irritating.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

      Mike

        Settings | Preferences… | Backup
uncheck Remember current session for next launch.

Brilliant. I don’t know how I missed that.

          Many thanks.
