        @Jean-Colin ,

        Ubuntu is not an officially-supported OS for Notepad++. Many people get it to work on Ubuntu (through WINE or equivalent), but neither the Developers nor the regular users here in the Community make any warranty or guarantee.

        In theory, getting the translation should be the same on Ubuntu+WINE as it is on Windows: when you run the installer, you should be able to get the language. If you didn’t choose that language on install, I believe you can re-run the installer to ask for that language. Or, if that’s too annoying for you, download a portable edition, and unzip the translation(s) you need from the localization\ directory in the zipfile, and put it into Ubuntu-equivalent of C:\program files\Notepad++\localization . After restarting Notepad++ (so it can re-read its config files), then Settings > Preferences > General > Localization should show the additional language(s) that you put in that directory.
