How to make the Find box open in the same monitor?
-
I have 2 monitors, I open the Find box in monitor 1, and then close it. But when I open or move NP++ to monitor 2, and then hit ctrl+F to open the Find box, it opens monitor 1, as it remembers it’s last open location. So I have to manually move it to the monitor that has the NP++ program open.
Is there a way to fix that, or add an option to let it open automatically in the current program’s monitor, unless it is manually moved anywhere else?

Pressing Ctrl+f twice in succession when input focus is in the editing window will do it.
Note that if you already have input focus in the Find window, pressing Ctrl+f only once will recenter the Find window on the main application window. -
Thanks heaps!

BTW, why do you feel you have to do this?
Whenever I’m on a 2+ monitor setup, I have N++ maximized or almost-maximized, and I put the Find window on the monitor to the left.
Clearly YMMV, but I don’t find N++ very useful with a Find window covering up some part of the main editing window. It’s sooo big. -

Agreed, which is why I always wished the Find window was dockable, appearing much like the Incremental Find view.
The Find window would take up more space than Incremental Search, but I still believe it beats having a floating, potentially semi-transparent element top of the text I’m trying to work with.

Yea, this has long been a feature of N++'s Find window, but it’s not a great solution IMO for how huge the Find window is.
