      Hi. I just got a new laptop and was trying to make all of my software work in the same manner as on my old machine. When I tried to set Notepad++'s font, using Settings -> Style Configurator and changing the Font Style, the font changes but not to the specified font. The font I chose is a monospaced font, and the font displayed is not. (See lines 23 & 24 in the attached image.) npp.jpg Note that when other software uses the same font, the resulting font is monospaced. I’ve tried uninstalling Notepadd++ and reinstalling it, but that didn’t change anything. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

        @Mark-Boonie ,

        It sounds to me like you’ve chosen a font like Fira Code Light or Fira Code SemiBold instead of the basic Fira Code (or something similar).

        If you absolutely, positively must have the Light or SemiBold version, then you can follow the directions in this post to switch off DirectWrite and choose GDI (most compatible) instead. But that will mean that Notepad++ doesn’t handle emoji and many glyphs for non-latin scripts (various Asian scripts, for example) as well.

        If emoji and other scripts are important to you, then leave DirectWrite on, and instead pick the “plain” version of the font, without the weight specifier in the name.

          It looks to me like Notepad++ can’t load the font you’ve chosen, and it has fallen back to a default system font. I might be missing something, but the font of your text looks to me to be the same as the font that shows the filename in the tab and the title bar.

          Can you verify that if you select a really common, system-supplied monospaced font, like Courier New, you get what you would expect?

          What is the font you’re trying to use? If appropriate, could you tell us where you got it?
