Image in theme background?

Hi all,
I’m not sure if this is possible, but I thought it might be something I’d like to figure out.
Are we able to put images in the background of the editor window? Something like this:

I tried editing the XML file to include a background image, but I haven’t been able to figure it out on my own.

The edit field is a separate component called Scintilla. The only thing I can find in Scintilla’s documentation about images or pictures is related to markers and autocompletion. So I don’t think this is possible.
