Windows protected your PC - SmartScreen blocks installer

I just downloaded npp.6.8.2.Installer.exe directly from the announcement page.
I double-click the exe to launch it and Windows 10 presents the announcement that “Windows protected your PC. Windows SmartScreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. Running this app might put your PC at risk.”
App: npp.6.8.2.Installer.exe
Publisher: Unknown Publisherwith the choices [Run anyway] or [Don’t run]
I personally have high confidence that the quality of this installer is at least as good as the previous installers of this program.
I post this topic for comment by the author and any other users that want to address this.

I had the same problem, I just opened the CMD.exe as administrator (right clic-> run as administrator), then go to the location of the “npp.6.8.2.Installer.exe” and finally run the installer (npp.6.8.2.Installer.exe), it just worked for me.

Just came to say that signed exe’s would be something that our company would PAY for.
