Timeout for time-consuming regular expression operations
-
Hello, it would really be useful to have an option to define a maximum time for execution of search/replace operations with regular expressions.
Sometimes after some work (without saving) I enter a wrong regexp (which would take infinite time to execute) and Notepad++ freezes forever (I lose all my work).
It should be nice to display a popup after n seconds that asks to continue or to stop current operation.
Thanks -
There are already issues for this with an even better solution. Please take a look at issue #685 (“Non-blocking find/replace actions”). If you want to indicate that this feature is wanted, you could upvote in an issue comment.
