Apparently nobody reads anything, so it might be time to take a vacation from the Notepad++ forums until the certificate debacle is over. I for one question the decision to release a new version in this manner (because of all the noise it has already generated…and I’m sure will continue).

And after I read this on the v8.8.2 final release announcement:

“Due to the installer security issue, auto-updater will be triggered to this release in 1 day.”

I say - brace yourself, now with the N++ auto-update on, it’s going to be a real false-positive ride (only in the N++ github issues are already 6+ new issues about AVs reporting something).

UPDATE: With the release of v8.8.7, Notepad++ is once again signed by a GlobalSign-issued certificate, as well as the Notepad++ self-signed certificate.
