How to redock search results on the bottom of the Windows
-
Hi all,
I have Windows 10. I have my search results window undocked. Now when I double click the hearder, it docks at the top the window instead of the bottom. Dragging it to the bottom does not cause the window to dock. How can I reset so that the search results are at the bottom of the opened file window?

Is your main Notepad++ windows maximized? I’ve noticed that the Windows 10 Taskbar will overlap the bottom edge of a maximized window. Perhaps that’s what’s happening and the drop target for your search panel drag is hidden?

Thank you for the reply Jon Oliver. My Notepad++ window is not maximized. I can even move the search results window past the edge of the Notepad++ window…still no joy. It’s very annoying. I may have to remove and reinstall.

Ah ha! I figured it out. Turns out it’s the upper edge of the results window that must be over the dock target. I was trying to do it with the bottom edge. Thanks Jon Oliver!! Your response led me to the answer. I appreciate you!.

This posting is sort of the definitive guide to what you want to do. If you read it and the knowledge gained doesn’t help solve your problem, post again.
