Recover unsaved file, missing from backup
-
I need to recover a very important file from Notepad++, I closed accidentally a file called new 46 never saved. I have the backup enabled so in C:\Users{username}\AppData\Roaming\Notepad++\backup I found some backups but exactly the file I need is missing, any way to recover that file ?
Windows 10 restore should resolve the problem ?
Any way to search for hex in windows temp files?
I tried with some recovery tools but no luck, maybe the file was never saved in cache/backup.

I’m afraid but I guess this is the only way to do it but if you have already without luck maybe
use a different recover software.Cheers

No, System Restore can recover deleted files, but should not be able to recover unsaved files. If it has been synchronized, the file history will help you with the recovery process.

Would you mind to provide a little bit more info on how this should work in the case of the
problem described by the OP? -

Notepad++ will give you a prompt in this case, if you “accidentally” close a file, for example:

If you answer No to this, Notepad++ takes you seriously.
