Pinning/Locking a Tab
-
I see this has been asked a few years ago.
Is there any chance this feature will be added? -
Ok, so it isn’t a feature. But…is it really that hard to simulate it? Move such tabs (via drag/drop) to the leftmost positions of your tab set, and never close them. Done.

This way, when you right click on some other tab and select “Close All BUT This”, locked tabs will remain open.
And in my approach (posting immediately above), to do the equivalent, you right-click the rightmost tab that you want in your (simulated) locked group, then choose “Close All to the Right”.

@alan-kilborn the problem with this is while I am editing 50 html pages at the same time and want to close all but a few PINNED or locked tabs at the front, I usually end up clothing one of them by accident. By being able to PIN or lock a tab that would never happen again. They would aways remain open.

Not sure why “Close All to the Right” doesn’t suit.
To each his own. -

That said, if it really doesn’t suit @knightsmmedia’s desires (or @Sander-Bouwhuis , or anyone else who cares about this request), then they would be well-advised to read our FAQ on how to make an official feature request, because no amount of talking about it here will ever result in any action being taken by the developers. Once such a feature request is made, they should paste a link to that specific request in this discussion, so that future readers can easily look into whether it’s ever been implemented.

Well, one doesn’t really have to make such a feature request, as there have already been several (see HERE and visually parse to find relevant ones). Interested readers of this thread can add their comments to an appropriate existing issue, perhaps THIS one being the most obvious?

Thanks for finding that. When writing up my last response, I didn’t have time to do the searching for them, and I thought the FAQ entry encouraged searching for existing issues.
But when you posted this, I checked the FAQ and saw that it only slightly mentioned searching for old issues before posting a new one. I have fleshed out the Feature Request / But Report FAQ to make that more prominent. (I also pinned it to the top of the FAQ list so it’s easier to find.)

I also pinned it to…
Given the topic of this thread…I’ll say to that: OUCH.

Sometimes, I do have a sharp wit.
