Plugins Admin is missing in minimalistic package (SOLVED)
-
My Plugins Admin has been missing.
The problem is that I’m using the minimalistic package that is probably not intended to have the Plugins Admin but I want it the same so the procedure to enable it is the following one:
-
Follow the instructions from this thread: https://community.notepad-plus-plus.org/topic/17389/plugins-plugins-admin-missing to add nppPluginList.dll inside the Plugins/Config folder. It’s not necessarily a certain npp++ package (use the latest one) and it’s not necessary to install it as the thread asserts, but you can create the folder and copy the file by hand.
-
create the updater folder and copy these files from the downloaded package: GUP.exe, gup.xml, libcurl.dll.
Done!

Or try the portable version.

My thread is about the minimalistic version.
The portable “minimalistic” package has the same problem: no Plugins Admin. -

Yep, but a future reader might be missing Plugins Admin and have no good reason for running the minimalistic version. Thus switching to the portable version may be a viable solution for them.

I can’t understand your reasoning.
If someone doesn’t have a good reason to run the minimalist, why does he choose that version at the beginning?
If I use the minimalist version it’s because I don’t care about localization and themes (almost 9MB). The reason for which the minimalist version exists is exactly to maintain npp++ size “minimal”.
With my tutorial anyone can add Plugins Admin to the minimalist version without upgrading to the full version and adding 9MB to its installation. The portable version you are referring to is a full version that doesn’t need to be installed.
It satisfies a completely different need: in this case you are not interested in size but in portability. And if you are interested in size AND portability you can choose the minimalist-portable version that exists too.
I understand your intentions but you are confusing the things instead of clarifying them.

Analogy: Why do people try to run the ARM version on a non-ARM machine? Because they don’t know what they’re choosing.
You sure wrote a lot of words to flame my posting.

@Alan-Kilborn why should I flame your posting in my thread???
…
Well listen, you were right.
Thank you for your contribution and have a good day my friend.
