How to COMPLETELY undo Dark Mode?
-
I made the mistake of trying 'Dark Mode".
I turned it OFF now, but the icons at the top (3rd line) are now wireframe, even when I turn Dark Mode off.
Ok, that ticked me off, but I was living with it.
But now, when I go to print, EVEN WITH DARK MODE OFF, I get an unreadable sheet of grey paper with either pale white or black lettering.
Even if I live with the wireframe icons, how do I COMPLETELY undo Dark Mode and get printed sheets back to black letters on a white background?

@John-Humkey I’ll answer my own question, for anyone also experiencing the problem.
I turned off “change tracking” in Settings-> Preferences-> Margins/Border/Edge under “Display Change History” unchecked the box.
Now the printed text is regular black characters on white (laser printer paper) background.

As far as I’m aware these preferences (Settings) are all stored within XML files. Now if you used the normal Notepad++ installer you will have Notepad++ in either the “C:\Program Files (x86)\Notepad++” or “C:\Program Files\Notepad++” folder. Within that are the default XML files. What occurs next is these are copied through the first time a user starts Notepad++ and are put into the %appdata%\Notepad++ folder. See this post for more details. It is these copies which are changed when you select items such as “dark mode”. So here is where you should look for changes to be made.
I’d suggest looking at the original in the Program Files area alongside the one in the %appdata% area. You might have to complete several manual changes to get back to some semblance of normality. You could just copy the original over, but that would mean other changes you made (and want to keep) will be reset.

PS ah yes, the dreaded change history issue. Glad that’s all it was, but you may still want to read the post I referenced to get more understanding of how the app stores settings.

Ok, that ticked me off, but I was living with it.You don’t have to live with it, you just have to manually change your toolbar back to the standard icons.
Go to Settings -> Preferences. -> General (Preferences should start with the General section) and there is a Toolbar group of radio buttons. Change from whichever FluentUI icons you have (Probably FluentUI: Small) to Standard Icons: Small
