There are slogans for a new release:
“Black lives matter”
“White lives matter too”
“police arbitrariness in the U.S.”
The enemy of China is my friend? Everything is permissible for them?
But as far as I know, Democrats are paying for a revolt to topple Trump. If you ask me, I am against some people humiliating others for whatever reason. -
I have Notepad ++ more than 800 menu items …
my memory is running out! :) %) о_О

For collecting personal information and not being able to login with an regular alias.
Why would you go this route? Really off-putting. -

OK, but this is hate for the choice of support-site software, not general Notepad++ hating. :-)
-
@alan-kilborn If there is a thread called for specifically on-site then I would be there.
This is the closest thing. It’s really off-putting and not at all good in any way for the users.
For a support forum that’s just disgusting. This was the first time i encountered where they force you to log in with X details, Facebook/twitter/Github but not with a regular alias / username/password and they also kick you from site if you don’t accept the forced personal details getting collected.
Whoever the owners is, care to share why this is the choice?
-
Hmm, it was your choice whether to join or not, and it appears you chose to. So, I’d get over it if I were you.

What are these? I’m confused.
@bubblan4 said in You've a lot of reasons to hate Notepad++:

Well, some sort of choice had to be made.
Presume it was based upon features of the software. -

For someone who has no personal information in their publically available profile, the user dost protest too much, methinks. Really off-putting.
Why would you go this route?
Before asking such a question, one might check the FAQ section, where there’s a whole topic on Logging in to this Forum, which includes an in-depth analysis as to the whys and wherefores of not having an insecure local password stash, and instead relying on a major provider with huge paid staffs keeping passwords secure to handle the security, and use an internet-standard login OAUTH protocol to keep our site secure, and to allow the maintainers of the forum to not have to deal with security breaches. As is explained in the FAQ, if you have a propblem with sharing personal information, you are only sharing as much personal information here as you did to the OAUTH provider… so if you make a dummy/anonymous account with any of the OAUTH providers that allow anonymous accounts, and give non-personal information, then that’s all that the Notepad++ Community will have.
For a support forum that’s just disgusting
Because it’s so disgusting to admit to the public that you want to go by the alias “bubblan4” on this Forum. Oh, wait… that was completely your choice, and revealed no personal information.
If you don’t like the Community (not support team; none of us are paid employees of the non-existent Notepad++ Development Corporation), or if you find the choice of forum-software disgusting, that is a problem you can choose to deal with in whatever way you see fit… but please make sure that you abide by the expectations of users set out in the Community Forum documentation and FAQs.
Now I’m going to go back to ignoring this topic and the whole Boycott section of the Community; I am still not sure how your post made it into my “most recent” feed when I’ve done my best to tune my notifications in such a way that posts in the Boycott section aren’t supposed to notify me or show up in my “unread” feed. Hopefully I’ve fixed it again, so I can go back to blissfully ignoring the complainers.

You’ve a lot of reasons to hate Notepad++
For its political positions
For its moral higher ground
For its new Plugins Admin
For its good taste humour in its Easter eggs
For its “Windows only” support
…So say fuck to Notepad++ here and only here.
I find this an amusingly self-aware post. As a professional developer the political stuff is a little awkward if we have to review the software BUT I only today realised N++ was a private project. I had just assumed it was FOSS and though it was a bit weird to take a stance. If it’s one person’s project they can do what they want, not like I paid for it!

“not war”
Why did you wait 8 years when the bandits shelled two regions for 8 years? Why now, when these bandits wanted to destroy these 2 regions by preparing weapons, and Russia grabbed these bandits by the sore spot, now you do not want war? That is, you want to destroy 2 regions and have Russia allow you to do this?
You are a politically illiterate person. Not only are you a homosexual, you are also a murderer.
I will not judge you, because you live in countries where it is forbidden to have a different opinion, media with a different point of view is prohibited. That’s why you don’t know anything except what your liars show you. -

Scott Ritter was the UN weapons inspector who, during the Iraq War told the truth that we found no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He became outspoken about this, which undercut the main reason the US used to invade and occupy Iraq. As with the Iraq War, Scott Ritter is outspoken about the present war in Ukraine, in which we are again hearing US lies about the reasons for, and the events happening in the Ukraine War. His vast experience and knowledge working in the military and with various international agencies helps expose the truth about what is happening in Ukraine. -
This is surely the wrong place to post this, but FAQ posts apparently (and understandably) don’t allow replies. The FAQ post in question, however, does end with a link to this thread, so I figured posting here would be marginally better than starting a new thread somewhere else.
I have reason to believe that I have multiple logins on this site; if this turns out to be true, I’d like to delete the others. The FAQ post mentions about multiple logins, and I’m sure that the legal agreements you have to click past to start an account here must say something to the effect of “if you don’t agree with this pile of mumbo jumbo, you can delete your account”, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how one goes about doing this. The FAQ also explains how to link multiple accounts, but I’m not interested in that, either; I believe in not keeping all my eggs in one basket, and by extension, not letting the holders of one basket know where my other baskets are.
Can someone post a link to the instructions for deleting an account, if they exist, or else post a new thread or subsection in the FAQ area (or wherever) with these instructions?

Click on your icon top right of screen and select edit profile. The delete account option is right there. That implies you need to be logged into the account to get deleted. That would be necessary as it then suggests you know the login details of that account.

Les numéros de lignes sont en hexadécimal…? Pourquoi ? Donc adieu.
-
The line numbers are in hexadecimal…? What for? To assist computers, precisely the things that are supposed to assist us? Simply idiotic. And besides that N++ is always crashing [at startup] with [nothing in the buffer except] a vertical black bar on the left [i.e. the caret]. I have the 32-bit version to use the plugins I can’t be without, but they’ve stopped working! So goodbye.
@Besansson, peut-être que nommer ces plugins cassés pourrait permettre à quelqu’un de vous aider…?
