Can't open user-defined language folder
-
I recently transferred to a new laptop with PC mover and I realized that my existing user-defined languages are not showing up or being used even if I see the folder/files in AppData/Roaming/Notepad++. I updated the theme and I can see the timestamp updated correctly.
So trying to open the folder does nothing. I quickly added a new user defined language but I can’t seem to find a file containing that name anywhere.
Is there a setting about where Notepad++ is looking for the folder or something else that I should look for?
Thanks

Sharing ?-menu’s Debug Info will help us diagnose your problem. it will tell us if you are in normal installation or have local config turned on (for example with the portable version) or you have the cloud settings turned on.
If you create a UDL using the User Defined Language dialog, it puts it them all in the single-file
%AppData%\Notepad++\userDefineLang.xml
(you can just paste that into Open Dialog or Explorer 🛈). But if you have a%AppData%\Notepad++\userDefineLangs
folder, then the XML files in that will also be parsed for more UDLs. -
Thanks for the very informative reply. I ended up with a cloud setting that I don’t remember ever using but maybe a result of an experiment at some point. Removed that and all is back to normal.
Thanks so much, really appreciated.
