    how to view .dat file

      Hey there, So as you can see. I opened a .dat file that is supposed to have numbers and letters (text only) there is nothing else besides in that dat file, and yet i am unable to view this file properly
      Is there any way to convert or i am not sure what am i supposed to do to read this text file in a human language

      Any help is appreciated, thanks

        Notepad++ is a text editor.
        It works on text files.
        You do not have a text file.
        Thus, Notepad++ isn’t the tool to help you.

          As Alan hinted, you supposed incorrectly. That file obviously has many binary bytes beyond plain text. Usually files that are named .dat are binary files, not text files.
