Re: [Translation spanish.lng](latest version)
Hello, I need help.
I don’t know what happened but the last update of galician.xml doesn’t work correctly. spanish.xml is correct.As much as I check and compare, I can’t find anything that I need to correct.
Thank you very much for your help.

What exactly does that mean?
“doesn’t work correctly” -
There are lines that it does not translate. Example, from 29 to 39.
You can see it in the image.
If I adapt the file to the english.xml version, it works perfectly.
But there must be something wrong. The translation was correct before.

Got it.
Actually, it appears to not translate any submenu text, in any of the top-level menus, in N++ 8.5.2. -
Is the problem with Notepad++ v8.5.2 itself, or is it with the version of the galician.xml that ships with v8.5.2?
For example, if you overwrite the galician.xml with one of the older versions of the file and restart Notepad++ does it work?
Or if you take the galician.xml from the v8.5.2 Notepad++ and use it in a portable v8.5.1 or earlier, does it work?
That will help you narrow down where the problem lies.

Solved.
Version 8.5.2 does not recognise <Item submenuid = “file-openFolder” name = “Abrir carpeta con&tedora”/>.Changing submenuid to subMenuId now translates correctly.
Thanks
Solucionado.
La versión 8.5.2 no reconoce <Item submenuid = “file-openFolder” name = “Abrir carpeta con&tedora”/>.Al cambiar submenuid por subMenuId ya se traduce de forma correcta.
Gracias

Version 8.5.2 does not recognise <Item submenuid
But this is not specific to 8.5.2; no versions of N++ recognize
submenuid
.You introduced the all-lowercase version, HERE.

Exactly. My mistake.
I’m using the english.xml, spanish.xml and galician.xml versions at the same time and, moreover, comparing the translations in the different Notepad++ interfaces. Sometimes I have to reduce the text because there is not enough space and it gets cut.
And I also use WinMerge to avoid errors and, even so, I make them.
Now I just need @donho’s permission to match galician.xml to english.xml. It would help me a lot in future translations. I just need to change
<Item menuId = "file" name = "&Arquivo"/>
to<Item menuId="file" name="&Arquivo"/>
.That is, remove all the spaces from the code that do not exist in any version of other translations, but were mixed in the galician.xml version of 2011.
Thank you very much

For reference.
The complete modification was rejected when I published it on GitHub. Too many spaces and TAB’s left over.Como referencia.
La modificación completa fue rechazada cuando la publiqué en GitHub. Sobran demasiados espacios y TAB’s. -
@P0rsche-911
New attempt. I hope @donho will be considerate and accept the file modification.
It contains some correction of translation errors and adaptation of text to the available space in the different interfaces.
Example: User language vs Lenguaje del usuario (Language -> User Defined Language -> Define your language -> User language:)Nuevo intento. Espero que @donho sea considerado y acepte la modificación del archivo.
Contiene alguna corrección de errores de traducción y adaptación de texto al espacio disponible en las distintas interfaces.
Ejemplo: User language vs Lenguaje del usuario -
I commented in your PR, trying to convince Don to accept your formatting fix this time. But please understand, if he rejects it again, he’s probably never going to accept fixes of the " = ", and if you continue trying to get it approved after this one, it will just be an exercise in frustration on your part.
added: If he does end up rejecting it again, I might suggest that when you are comparing the galician.xml to either spanish.xml or english.xml, you use the ComparePlus plugin in Notepad++, which has an option Plugins > Compare Plus > Ignore Spaces, which will mean that it won’t highlight
name = "blah"
as being different fromname="blah"
– that will at least make it easier for you, even if it doesn’t solve the underlying problem. -
@PeterJones
This ComparePlus option is perfect.I appreciate any help. Too bad I can’t take advantage of it properly. It requires knowledge that I don’t have.
You modify code and for me it’s like reading Chinese or Japanese.
Thanks for everything and for being understanding with me.
Esa opción de ComparePlus es perfecta.
Agradezco toda ayuda. Lástima que no pueda aprovecharla como es debido. Se necesitan conocimientos que yo no tengo.
Modificáis código y para mí es como leer chino o japonés.
Gracias por todo y por ser comprensibles conmigo.
