Opening shortcuts.xml I see that it is defined as follows: <Macro name="Select current line without EOL" Ctrl="no" Alt="no" Shift="no" Key="0"> <Action type="0" message="2453" wParam="0" lParam="0" sParam="" /> <Action type="0" message="2453" wParam="0" lParam="0" sParam="" /> <Action type="0" message="2345" wParam="0" lParam="0" sParam="" /> <Action type="0" message="2315" wParam="0" lParam="0" sParam="" /> <Action type="0" message="2315" wParam="0" lParam="0" sParam="" /> </Macro> I’m not going to look it up, but I will wager that these are exactly the 5 command steps that you outlined directly above. What this all means is…I’m sure we’ve discussed this before in the Community! And, of course, that turns out to be true… :-D Time for a FAQ Desk about this?

ok for the first one, I didn’t know, but anyway, I like npp a lot, I’ve got a very old ue version aside just for my second editor, I hated it when it became so heavy, npp is my main editor, one of the reasons is that it’s very light and I like your help here too, your contribution makes npp a much better editor anyway, about the last part: I know and I agree that it should be some plugin, maybe autosave, but I need it too and I think those crashes/misbehaviors are minor in comparison to what it offers, since I got used to it (and my other plugins)

By the way, I just realized that I didn’t answer the Facebook part of your question…FB questions are not really welcome here, but I’ll answer it indirectly: Web sites do different things according to their programming when users input data. For example, this website will do the following if you attempt to add extra vertical whitespacing in a posting: [image: mRHBEqK.png] I’m not saying that there aren’t ways around this for the FB “problem” you are experiencing, but I’m not going further with that here, mainly because I don’t care–sorry. My main point is that you might do something in Notepad++ that appears to solve a problem when viewed with Notepad++, but text copy-and-pasted is at the mercy of how the destination wants to process it.

It’s your right to choose whatever text editor you want to. However, crashes cause data loss; it is always your responsibility to make sure that critical data is backed up. More information about the issue can be found at (https://notepad-plus-plus.org/community/topic/15748/faq-desk-crash-caused-my-file-to-be-all-nulls). If you wanted to be helpful, instead of just complaining, you could try to reproduce the problem: whoever can be the one to find a reliable, reproducible way to force a crash causing the data loss will provide a necessary tool in fixing the problem: so far, the author has not been able to reproduce the problem, and thus cannot debug it.

@Fly-Wire delete your characters put the cursor into the next line, press and hold shift+alt click with the mouse into the position of the last line holding the data to be move ctrl+x go up to the line with the initial delete chars ctrl+v Took longer this to write than to do. Cheers Claudia
