[new plugin] “Empty files as Unicode”
Automatically changes the encoding of opened empty documents to Unicode.
Without this plugin Notepad++ will assume that any existing empty file is encoded as Windows ANSI. With this plugin a Unicode encoding is assumed, and is used when you add and save some text. The default encoding is the last saved Notepad++ default for empty documents, or if that isn’t Unicode, then UTF-8 with BOM.
The plugin is available in 32-bit and 64-bit versions, plus full source code and CMake support for building with Visual C++, from GitHub, (https://github.com/alf-p-steinbach/NPP-plugin-Empty-files-as-Unicode/releases).
@chcg I tried twice to register a user to login there, but I never got the promised e-mail that I should use to activate the account. And yes, I did check the spam box. It was just never received.
The x64 at github you could add as pull request. For the access to the server you need the help of @bruderstein, but his is currently seldom around. I could copy the data of a x64 PR and create a corresponding entry.
