it has been checked at virustotal with 68 different antivirus software, including kaspersky, norton, avast, avira, etc.

the installer lets you choose the language.
notepad++ will be set to the language you selected inside the installer.

if you already installed notepad++ without choosing your language, you can change the language in the menu:
settings > preferences > general > localization.

if you don’t have any languages but english in this drop down menu, just run the installer again, selecting your desired language and/or other languages to be installed.
(tick the desired languages in the localization section of the installer)

at first i didn’t see it animated right away after posting it.
only a full page reload triggered the image flipping.

i think it’s probably a browser related restriction (safari)
the gif flipping does not seem to initiate if it has been loaded via ajax/xmlhttprequests to an already rendered canvas.

Gentlemen, Thank you very much! I will try the methods that you have suggested. The suggestion to “find and replace” is great! Those vertical lines really do help…

The plugin is named YEtc. Its code is hosted at GitHub. Since its original author is japanese, the ZIP file with the DLL can only be downloaded from a japanese website. It seems like akismet.com doesn’t like the address of that site, thus I can not post it here. But it is obtainable on the main page of the repository above. You have to translate that website by e.g. Google translation service to find the right download link.

The author is the same one who wrote the Horizontal Ruler plugin. On the japanese website mentioned above one can find links to the source code and ZIP packages of the two plugins mentioned before and of some others as well, which seem to be of interest for japanese people only, though.

Have a look at (menu) Settings -> Preferences -> (register) General -> (group box) Tab Bar -> Lock (no drag and drop). If this option is ticked you have to untick it to get back tabs dragging feature.

Since this is the support forum for Notepad++ driven by volunteers which are not involved into its development, your request presumably will not have the intended effect.

actually using normal text never worked - the issue was that I didn’t realize that it was not set to my UDL, where it worked always. :-(
