    Well, those aren’t the most-recently opened files, those are the CURRENTLY open files. To get rid of them you’d have to do a File -> Close All but that probably isn’t what you want.

    Hi, All,

    Don’t forget to add, too, in the APIs, for the .xml file, relative to your language, the line <Environment ignoreCase="no" />, which must be located right after the <AutoComplete> OR the <AutoComplete language="...."> line.

    It may help to point on the first word, with the same case of the letter(s) typed !

    For memory, AFAIK, the complete syntax of the Environment node, for a specific language, could be, for instance :

    <Environment ignoreCase="no" startFunc="(" stopFunc=")" paramSeparator="," terminal=";" additionalWordChar="$" />

    Hi, @daniel-elpunkt,

    @gerdb42’s regex works fine. Just an other formulation, based on the fact that your codes do not contain lower-case letters :

    SEARCH \b(\d*\u){4,}\d*\b

    REPLACE EMPTY

    And, as @gerdb42 said, if you have a single code, only, of 12 characters long, per line, just replace the final \b by the syntax \R, which represents any End of Line characters, whatever the file type ( Windows, Unix or Mac )

    SEARCH \b(\d*\u){4,}\d*\R

    REPLACE EMPTY

    After replacement, only codes, containing 0, 1, 2 or 3 capital letters, are kept !

    Think I’ll stop digging this particular hole.

    I liked Notepad ++. Shame I had to reinstall. But a quick read through the replies in the link seems to confirm my suspicions that this once great program has been spoilt by incompetent interference.

    There was a time I would have seen it as another challenge. As I’ve grown older, I’ve tired of challenges, shifting my attention to growing old as disgracefully as being this old allows.

    Good luck and thanks again for your reply. If Notepad ++ ever sorts itself out, I may have another look.

    I was experiencing the same issue. I uninstalled and reinstalled from the latest download (my previous version was auto “updated” to 7.3.3) and that fixed it. New unsaved tabs no longer ask to be saved when I close the window.

    FYI N++ can make these whitespace differences easier to detect by enabling View > Show Symbol > Show White Space and Tab.

    Are you still having problems? I can’t get word wrap to work on one of my computers running Windows 7. My other computer running windows 10 works fine.

    Basically the word wrap options do nothing at all. Checking default, aligned or indent do not wrap the text and I still have to scroll over to see anything past the edge of the window.

    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no luck there.

    Edit: I’m using v7.3.3 (32-bit)

    I had tried \r\n @, with an empty space between the “n” and the “@”. Don’t really know why I put the space there.

    You forgot to mention what means the second part of your regex (?<=\W)(?3)(?2)(?1)(?=\W) ?

    Hello, @semicodin,

    The correct regex to match any range of characters, even on several lines, with the syntax :

    - <script .....>................... </script> or : - <script> ........................ </script>

    is (?s-i)<(script)( |>).*?</\1>

    Notes :

    The initial part (?s-i) are modifiers, which forces the regex engine to consider that :

    The special dot character can match, absolutely, any character ( Standard or End of Line characters )

    The search will be performed in a sensitive way ( = non-insensitive )

    Then, the first part <(script)( |>) tries to match, either, the string <script> OR the string <script, followed with a space character. Note that the word script, embedded in round parentheses, stands for group 1

    The third part </\1> matches the exact string </script>

    And the second part .*? represents the shortest range of any character between part 1 and part 3

    IMPORTANT :

    Don’t forgot that this simple regex supposes that no other block <script......</script> is nested, inside the initial block !

    I don’t see anything obvious in the Print preferences that will “print” the FF as an actual form feed rather than a white FF on a black background. Any ideas?

    I agree that many characters of ASCII < 32 should be “masked” during printing, and appear as, say “NUL”, or “BEL”, rather than an actual NUL character or an audible bell. But FF (ASCII 12), like TAB (ASCII 9), is a legitimate formatting character. There may be times when I want that printed as a white FF on a black background, but there should be an option I can set, or toggle just before printing, to see a page break in my printed document, rather than the black mask for the FF.
